Our initial drop of the Diana Crew sold out in record time, but your royal invitation isn’t over yet.

Some pieces are more than a fleeting fashion statement. Almost 30 years after Princess Diana turned our navy Fly Virgin Atlantic sweatshirt into an off-duty favourite, we’re bringing it back – this time, to make a difference in partnership with Save the Children.

Timed to the 30th anniversary of that now-famous appearance in November 1995, this re-issue pays homage to the original, with an initial launch of 250 jumpers available, exclusively through Retail Therapy online. If ever there was a collector’s piece worth snapping up, this is it!

The return of an icon

The first version was unmistakably Diana: relaxed, confident and quietly rebellious. We’ve stayed true to that spirit, keeping the deep-navy cotton, ribbed trim and vintage Flying Lady emblem – inspired by 1930s aviation art, cape flowing with Virgin gleaming across her back.

Soft and easy to wear, it’s made for weekend strolls, airport lounges and coffee stops alike – a piece that can be dressed up or down, for that effortless, 90s casual chic.

Good looks, greater impact

This launch is about more than relaunching an iconic look. For each jumper sold, £10 goes directly to Save the Children, supporting its Emergency Fund for children affected by conflict, hunger and natural disasters.

Our retail partner Tourvest has waived its usual fees so more of each sale can reach the cause. Plus, Virgin Atlantic has also made a special donation to The Diana Award, continuing the late Princess’s work championing young people and kindness in action.

As Sophie Woodford, Head of Creative and Design at Virgin Atlantic, puts it: “Princess Diana’s Virgin Atlantic jumper became an emblem of individuality. Recreating it for Save the Children lets us honour her spirit with a modern twist – combining purpose, nostalgia and a little Virgin flair along the way.”

A partnership with heart

Our partnership with Save the Children has always been about showing up when it matters most. Through the Emergency Fund, we help provide healthcare, food, shelter and education for families caught in crisis – the essentials that restore stability and hope.

It’s a collaboration we’re extremely proud of. A simple sweatshirt can do a surprising amount when it connects nostalgia with real-world impact.

As well as a nostalgic comeback, the jumper is a tribute to Princess Diana’s enduring influence – from her authenticity and quiet strength to her iconic, unmistakably British style that continues to inspire hearts (and wardrobes) around the world.
